This program is dedicated to ensuring that each person has a choice of the most appropriate living option. Options include the following:
Community Homes – This option provides for one to two people to live with a family in the community. Currently, six people live in five Residential Associate Family Homes.
Small Options – This option provides community based homes supporting three or fewer people who receive up to twenty-four hour support. It currently supports twenty-seven people in nine homes located in communities throughout Kings County.
SIL-Supported Independent Living & ILS-Independent Living Support – These very similar options provide up to twenty hours a week of supports and services to persons who live independently in their own apartment or home. Currently nine people are supported in eight apartments located in Coldbrook, Kentville, Wolfville, and New Minas.
